January through June Astrology Report
Happy New Year, dear stargazers! May your dreams take root and then flourish, and may the stars always shine brightly and be visible to guide you toward love, joy, and clarity.

I bet you been curious about what 2025 has in store for us? Where are we heading next, and what can we expect from the cosmic alignments in the new year? There was a lot of buzz in the media about “the year when everything changes,” as if we haven’t experienced countless pivotal years in our recent history. It looks like we’re caught in a cycle of grasping for a new era—craving swift and radical change or deep, transformative shifts; it looks like we’re collectively afflicted with a relentless desire for more, for new, for different. But do we ever seriously ask ourselves what it is that we truly want and desire?
Before we dive into the mapping of the road ahead, let’s sit for a moment with a few grounding questions:
Do I know who I am?
Who do I love?
What truly makes me happy?
What gives me peace?
What inspires me?
And, most importantly, How do I feel in my body? Where do I notice aches, discomfort, or unease?
Only after reflecting on the foundational questions above can we begin to ask the next set of questions:
Who do I want to become in the years ahead?
What kind of relationships do I want to nurture?
Where do I dream of going?
What am I striving to achieve, and why?
Who and what do I want to support?
How do I wish to feel in my body, and what must I do to get there?
Astrologically speaking, 2025 promises to be a fascinating year. There will be a lot of new and inspiring cosmic alignments. Some will remind us of planetary information from the past, some haven’t yet happened in this form. And because there is so much to unpack and analyze, I will divide my explanation in two parts. What follows is astrology of the first half of 2025: January through June.
After much reflection, I’ve chosen two words to describe the energy of 2025: magical turbulence.

These words bring me back to late December 2008, and my first transatlantic flight from Munich to New York. Pluto had just entered Capricorn, signaling major political and societal shifts in the years to come. My first flight to New York barely had a minute without turbulence—literal and emotional. I was flying alone that day to meet my boyfriend (now husband) in New York, and I felt both anxious and excited before stepping into a new life. We already knew we’d be moving to the U.S., to Seattle, but how our lives would unfold was a mystery—the physical feeling of which matched the turbulence I was experiencing during that flight.
Fast-forward to November 19, 2024: Pluto transitioned from Capricorn to Aquarius, where it will remain until 2044. This alone, not to mention other significant planetary shifts about to happen in 2025, is an announcement for a new life. Throughout December, I’ve felt similar corporeal turbulence to the one I experienced during my first flight to New York. This new turbulence appears as the kind of unease that keeps me awake at night, wondering what lies on the other side of the unknown, yet it also carries a spark of hope—a quiet assurance that change, though unsettling, is necessary.
So, let me explain better the words magical turbulence:
The word turbulence reflects a sense of instability, change, and challenges. It captures the disruptions that shake the foundations of what we know, urging us to adapt, evolve, and grow. On the other hand, the word magical suggests an underlying sense of wonder, potential, and serendipity amidst the chaos. Even though turbulence brings uncertainty, it also creates space for unexpected opportunities, breakthroughs, and profound realizations.
The Start of 2025 and the Power of the Collective
As I already mentioned, on November 19, 2024, Pluto, the planet of transformation and power, moved away from Capricorn’s weighty focus on structural authority and began its journey toward Aquarius’s radical vision for the future.
Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius has been felt loudly here in Serbia since November 2024. On November 1 (when Pluto, at the last degree of Capricorn, opposed Mars at the last degree of Cancer), a tragic collapse of the railway station canopy in the city of Novi Sad claimed the lives of 15 people, including young children. This catastrophic event (oddly symbolic of the crumbling structures of corruption and neglect), catalyzed a chain of collective action. As Pluto transitioned into Aquarius on November 19, what began as grief-inspired street gathering transformed into mass protests led by students and the youth of Serbia.

This ingress of Pluto into Aquarius—an astrological signature of revolution and the power of the collective—marks the beginning of a new chapter.
Aquarius, the sign of innovation, rebellion, and community, inspired a series of actions against president Vucic’s corrupt regime. The protests gained momentum as Mars stationed retrograde, and fueled introspection and revisiting of unresolved societal problems and frustration. Social media became a battleground for truth, with the youth of Serbia harnessing the energy of Mars retrograde to channel their demands and amplify their voices. The opposition between Mars and Pluto, once signaling a breaking point, had now evolved into a deeper push for systemic change. The protests embodied Aquarius’s raw, transformative potential—a demand for justice, accountability, and vision for a transparent and freeing future. The youth, empowered by the Aquarian spirit of innovation and solidarity, have become the driving force of this movement, asking accountability for the tragedy and inspiring the desire for collective healing and progress. In astrology, Aquarius represents the collective, the group dynamic, and the power of many united voices. The recent actions of the Serbian youth represent the striking example of this transit, and and powerful representation of how astrological dynamics shape societal change. The opposition of Pluto in Aquarius and Mars in Leo inspires a whole generation to speak with one voice, transcending the need for singular icons. It highlights a new paradigm where movements are no longer about one person leading but rather the collective acting together.
But with every invitation for change, healing, or progress comes personal and societal resistance. That resistance is the inner turbulence we might feel, urging us to confront what no longer works and take bold steps toward something better.
Before we explore the most significant astrological themes and dates for 2025, let’s pause again. Take a moment to check in with your body.
Do you sense any turbulence within?
How does it show up for you?
And opposite to turbulence, do you feel any urge for change or healing?
Do these energies feel opposite or complementary to one another?
Take another breath here, and let’s move on to review of the first half of 2025.
January 2025: Acts of Kindness
The year begins slowly, with Mars retrograde in Leo setting the tone for introspection and recalibration. On January 2, Venus enters Pisces where she feels at her best, and Mercury is finally out of its retrograde shadow. On January 3, Mars makes the exact opposition to Pluto at 1 degree Aquarius. The Mars and Pluto opposition at the start of the year, marks a critical moment, perhaps a lesson in confronting the obstacles that prevent us from fully embracing our authenticity. It challenges us to reconcile our inner sense of identity with our collective roles, so that we can contribute meaningfully to the world around us. On a personal level, this dynamic alignment may demand that we step into our power and defend our sense of identity (Leo) while also considering our purpose and place within the larger community (Aquarius). It’s a call to balance the personal with the collective, asking us to hold firm to who we are while navigating the tension between individual self-expression and communal belonging.
(The last opposition between Mars and Pluto will occur on April 26, when Mars direct, reenters Leo at 3 degrees Aquarius. Note now that a question or problem revealed to you in the first week of January might not be resolved until late April 2025.)
Mars Retrograde in Cancer January 6 – February 23, 2025: Obsession with Home Security
Mars retrograde in Cancer may amplify concerns around home and personal security, inspiring actions such as investing in safe deposit boxes, security systems, home insurance, or other measures to protect what feels sacred. This transit heightens our instinct to safeguard our emotional and physical foundations, leading to a focus on creating safe spaces for ourselves and our loved ones.
However, if Mars is afflicted in your natal chart, this retrograde could bring challenges such as instability, security breaches, theft, or other issues that disrupt your sense of safety.
To smooth out this energy, Venus in Pisces radiates her most compassionate and tender qualities. Venus exalted + Mars retrograde in Cancer creates a deeply nurturing atmosphere, making January an ideal month to focus on family and emotions. It’s time to prioritize love, care, and the spaces that provide comfort and belonging. January is also a perfect month to help those in need, do any charity work, and make any meaningful impact through acts of kindness and generosity.
On January 11, the Nodes of Destiny—the North Node and South Node—shift from the Aries-Libra axis to the Pisces-Virgo axis, signaling a significant change in focus for the upcoming eclipse cycle. This transition marks a collective shift from the grand theme of relationships to a new emphasis on service and healing. The North Node in Pisces calls us to embrace compassion, surrender, and creative vision, encouraging us to trust the flow of life. Meanwhile, the South Node in Virgo asks us to release tendencies toward perfectionism, over analysis, and rigid practicality and find a balance between unexplained intuition (Pisces) and pure logic (Virgo). This nodal shift sets the tone for the next 18 months, guiding us to integrate dreams with grounded action and find meaning in the acts of service to others.
The year’s first Full Moon occurs in Cancer on January 13, preoccupying with emotions, connection, home, and nurturing. This lunation will amplify the ongoing influence of Mars retrograde in Cancer, drawing our attention back to unresolved family issues, family dynamics, and the need for emotional security. With Venus exalted in Pisces during this time, the Full Moon invites a harmonious blend of compassion and introspection. The Cancer Moon encourages us to embrace vulnerability and prioritize the bonds that truly matter.
January ends with Sun entering Aquarius on January 19, and the New Moon in Aquarius on January 29-30, which will emphasize Pluto’s agenda to give power to the people and spur innovation and invention.
February 2025: Is it Fiction or Reality?
February brings profound Piscean energy as Saturn, Neptune, and the North Node align in this mystical sign, blurring the boundaries between fiction and reality.

This convergence asks us to navigate the fine line between dreams and practicality, challenging us to ground our visions in small steps and tangible actions. Saturn's discipline meets Neptune's imagination, creating a dynamic tension that invites us to chase our dreams while staying rooted in reality. The North Node amplifies this energy, calling us to embrace compassion and creativity and build a connection to our intuition, which many have forgotten or neglected.
The energy shift we will all feel on February 23 is Mars stationing and continuing direct at 17 degrees of Cancer. Mars in Cancer focuses on protection and loyalty to what we hold dear—our family, environment, homeland, and sense of belonging. This transit stirs deep emotions, awakening our instinct to nurture the children and safeguard the past. It highlights themes of nationalism, patriotism, and the desire to defend borders and maintain security, whether physically, emotionally, or metaphorically. It is crucial to know that Mars in Cancer always moves intuitively, prompting instinctive actions that arise from the gut rather than calculated strategy. This energy can feel like a battle to create safety, as it urges us to stand firmly for what matters most and confront threats to our sense of home and emotional stability. February and March will mark a time to fiercely fight for the spaces and relationships that provide comfort and belonging.
On a global level, the energies of Mars in Cancer with supportive trines from Saturn in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus will manifest through acts of protest, which will occupy spaces and stand steadfast in defense of what matters most.
Whether holding barricades, guarding borders, or even taking a stand on bridges, these actions vividly reflect this transit's protective and profoundly emotional nature. The energy is rooted in a fierce determination to preserve safety and a sense of belonging. It is a time when collective movements (Pluto in Aquarius) are driven by instinctive action and heartfelt conviction (Mars in Cancer). It's about defending the vulnerable and standing resolute against forces that threaten the foundations of home, homeland, community, or identity.
March 2025: When Magical Turbulence Begins
As we move into March 2025, the real magical turbulence begins.
Venus stations retrograde in Aries on March 1, setting the tone for the entire month. Mercury stations retrograde in Aries on March 15, adding a well-known confusion in communication and transportation. And because Aries rules the head, this transit will add headaches and sinus infections to slow us down. Venus will retrograde from Aries to her exaltation in Pisecs and invite us to review our relationships, values, and self-worth. In Aries, Venus retrograde emphasizes themes of individuality, courage, and desire. It asks us to review whether our relationships reflect our most authentic selves or hold us back. Old flames, unresolved tensions, and questions about independence within our committed relationships may resurface. These questions echo the Aries Libra eclipse cycle that ends in March, so if you still have unresolved issues in your current relationship(s), work diligently to resolve them in March. It's not a treat, but if you don't resolve what is due, the eclipses will sort your problems out, serving you with some corrections and making you face reality and deal with whatever you've been pushing under the carpet.
The Total Lunar Eclipse in Virgo on March 14 will challenge us to release control and perfectionism and encourage us to embrace the messier, more unpredictable parts of life. It's a cosmic reminder to find grace in imperfection and release the need for constant order.

Following the Spring Equinox, Venus will reenter Pisces on March 27 and meet Neptune at the last degree of Pisces. Then, Mercury will enter Pisces on March 29 and meet with Neptune. These meetings can produce magic, whether you believe it or not. However, because of the Mercury retrograde, whatever happens will be inside a cloud. The final Solar Eclipse in Aries will occur on March 29, concluding a powerful eclipse cycle that began in 2023. This fiery eclipse brings themes of bold beginnings and fearless individuality, urging us to step into a new chapter or new identity with confidence and clarity.
Adding on, Neptune ingresses into Aries on March 30 and amplifies the energy of heroism, idealism, and visionary pursuits. The energy of Neptune in Aries links to the character of Indiana Jones—a modern warrior on a bold quest for the elusive Holy Grail or an extraordinary miracle. This archetype embodies courage, adventure, and an unshakable belief in the impossible, blending Aries’ fiery drive with Neptune’s dreamy idealism. It’s the fearless pursuit of something greater, something transcendent, guided by intuition and a deep connection to the mysteries of life. However, just like Indiana Jones, this energy also carries the potential for missteps—chasing illusions or getting swept up in the allure of glory rather than the true purpose of the quest.
With Neptune in Aries, the confusion about what is right and whom to trust could become a recurring theme, challenging us to discern between authentic guidance and false idols.
Between Venus and Mercury's retrograde weaving through the entire month, two intense eclipses, and Neptune's ingress into Pisces, we will not have much time to breathe, let alone think through what is happening.
I can't stress more to remind you why it is important to remember to stay grounded and return to the questions I posed you initially.
Do I know who I am?
Who do I love?
What truly makes me happy?
What gives me peace?
What inspires me?
Also, note that March of 2025 may be a pivotal time to reexamine our values and take bold and instinctual action.
In March, turbulence will meet opportunity, inviting us to embrace the chaos and emerge stronger, wiser, and more aligned.
April 2025: The Venusian Heaven
If you’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to bask in Venus's blessings, April is your month—be bold and embrace her gifts. Venus in Pisces and post retrograde creates a celestial sanctuary of love, compassion, and creativity, forming harmonious alliances and building supportive sisterhoods throughout the month. April will be a time to nurture relationships, dive into artistic pursuits, and foster connections rooted in empathy and shared dreams. Mercury will station direct in Pisces on April 7, then reenter Aries on April 16 and meet with Neptune on the 17th. During this conjunction, we may receive new and important information or the clarification of the information that confused us during the eclipses.

As April progresses, the energy shifts toward action and courage. On April 26, the final opposition between Mars and Pluto occurs at 3 degrees of Leo and Aquarius. This powerful alignment symbolizes the downfall of an individual in power, brought about by the unified action of the collective. It highlights the tension between personal authority and the strength of the community, marking a pivotal moment where collective will triumph over individual dominance.
On April 30, Venus reenters fiery Aries, reigniting our passion, independence, and desire for bold self-expression. The goddess of love and harmony transforms into a fearless warrior, urging us to pursue what sets our hearts on fire. Whether in love, art, or life, April offers a balance of dreamy connection and daring confidence—a true Venusian heaven.
May 2025: The Discipline of Bold Beginnings
May 2025 marks Saturn's ingress into fiery Aries. Saturn will transit Aries from May 24 to September 1, 2025, and then return for a longer stay from February 13, 2026, to April 12, 2028. This transit brings structure and discipline to Aries's bold, pioneering spirit, encouraging us to take calculated risks and build lasting foundations for our ambitions.
While Aries ignites the courage to start new ventures, Saturn demands responsibility, patience, and perseverance, tempering impulsiveness with thoughtful action. Saturn in Aries will help us step into leadership roles, take ownership of personal growth, and commit to long-term goals. But it will also challenge us to refine our drive and channel all our raw passion into meaningful progress. Saturn in Aries can help us realize our bold ideas if we commit to diligent work without skipping the necessary steps.
Saturn and Neptune will be co-present in Pisces and Aries throughout 2025, ending the previous Saturn-Neptune cycle that started with the conjunction in November 1989. The new Saturn-Neptun cycle begins with their conjunction at 0 degrees Aries on February 20, 2026.
I must emphasize the profound importance of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction we are heading toward. The fact that these two archetypal opposites will be co-present in 2025 and conjoin in 2026 is far more significant than their transition from one constellation to another. Why? Because Saturn and Neptune represent two fundamentally contrasting energies:
Saturn embodies reality, structure, and boundaries; Neptune represents imagination, dissolution, and transcendence.
Saturn builds, solidifies, and defines; Neptune dissolves, disintegrates, and dreams beyond limits.
Their alignment in 2025 is a celestial call to reconcile these opposites, to find a way to unite them and create meaning out of their tension. This rare conjunction challenges us to integrate practicality with dreams, to bring imaginative visions into tangible reality, and to dissolve rigid limitations in favor of growth and creativity.
Saturn-Neptune conjunction signals a time of great inventions and great disillusionments—a dual potential that depends on how we choose to work with the energies. Will we create new structures that uplift and inspire, or will we fall into confusion and escapism? The choice is ours.

The last Saturn-Neptune conjunction occurred in November 1989, a pivotal moment in modern history. The fall of the Berlin Wall symbolized the breakdown of long-standing barriers. In the years that followed, we witnessed the dissolution of the Soviet Union and, later, the breakup of Yugoslavia. These events serve as powerful reminders of the transformative—and sometimes chaotic—potential of this planetary pairing.
As we approach the new conjunction in 2026, it is clear that we are on the brink of another profound cycle of dismantling and rebuilding. Pluto's current position in Aquarius, the sign of the collective, gives hope that we'll be able to navigate these opposing energies and define the solid foundations of our collective future.
June 2025: A Well of Abundance
On June 9, 2025, Jupiter, the planet of expansion, enters Cancer, the sign of its exaltation and a symbol of deep emotional abundance, nourishment, and connection. This transit heralds a period of growth through care, compassion, and nurturing ourselves and those around us. Jupiter in Cancer expands the themes of home, family, and emotional security we had already dealt with at the beginning of the year when Mars retrograde was in Cancer. Jupiter in Cancer will invite us to reconnect with our roots and cultivate a sense of belonging, but quite the opposite, it will also inspire us to expand from what is known to be home and relocate where our heart leads us.

However, Jupiter's new journey also begins with turbulence. Just a week after its buoyant entrance, Jupiter will form a challenging square to Saturn and Neptune in Aries, creating tension between optimism and realism, dreams and discipline. This square highlights the need to balance Jupiter's expansive, nurturing energy with the fiery, pioneering demands of Saturn (and Neptune) in Aries. While Jupiter in Cancer seeks emotional safety and growth, Saturn and Neptune in Aries don't mind much about emotions but challenge us to step out of our comfort zones and confront illusions (Neptune) and limitations (Saturn).
The start may feel rough, with potential growing pains as we navigate these tense energies, but this alignment will ultimately push us toward integration. Both Aries and Cancer are cardinal signs - the beginners, which means they will eventually figure out what this transit must initiate.
Saturn can build foundations for what Neptune can imagine, and Jupiter can expand all that and bring it to life. This cosmic trio works together to turn dreams into reality, with Neptune providing the vision, Saturn offering the structure, and Jupiter amplifying the potential.
What begins as a spark of inspiration in June 2025 can grow into something big and meaningful.
Let’s pause here with June 2025 because everything already feels abundant. Before we move into July, when Uranus makes its dramatic entrance into Gemini for a seven-year stay—ushering in profound shifts in how we think, communicate, and engage with technology—I want to bring you back to the present moment.
Return to your body, your breath, and whatever sensations you feel. Stay with your inhales and exhales. Remember, everything you just read represents possibilities. Energy is always neutral; it’s up to us to decide how we’ll harness it.
Thank you for trusting me to interpret the sky as we explored the transformative energies of 2025—the year of magical turbulence, renewal, and profound potential.
I hope this journey through the cosmos has inspired you to embrace the changes ahead with courage and curiosity.
Don't hesitate to reach out with questions.
With starlight,
Alex
