Full Moon in Leo: Shedding, Seeing, and What Truly Matters

Every Full Moon in Leo arrives like a drumroll—loud, intense, demanding attention. And this one? Even louder.

It’s tangled in a cosmic standoff—what astrologers call a T-square. This formation occurs when three planets lock into a tense, 90-degree dynamic, each pulling in a different direction, forcing a confrontation.

Full Moon and Starry Sky

Today, we have:

🌕 The Full Moon at 24° Leo—our emotions on full display, craving recognition.

The Sun at 24° Aquarius—revolutionary ambitions, reminding us that we are part of something bigger.

Uranus at 24° Taurus—the wildcard, here to disrupt, break patterns, and shake foundations.

The only fixed sign left untouched by today’s activation is Scorpio. But if you have the Sun—or any major planet—at 24° Scorpio? Oh boy, you’re about to be called to step up.

This Full Moon might feel like the ground shifting beneath our feet. When Uranus enters the mix, it doesn’t ask politely—it disrupts, provokes, and forces change.

The result?

🔥 Drama.

💥 Conflict.

The push-and-pull between control and chaos.

Things simmering beneath the surface might explode into the open. Conversations turn sharp. The desire to break free clashes with the fear of what happens if we do.

And yet, at the core of all this tension—there’s the heart.

Because Leo, in all its fire and spectacle, is not just about pride or power.

It's about courage.

It's about love.

A dear friend of mine is in the middle of rounds of chemo, fighting breast cancer. In our recent conversation, she told me about losing her hair, how dry and fragile her skin has become.

"I’m shedding like a snake," she said.

I reminded her: this is the Year of the Wooden Snake. We are all shedding something—personally and as communities.

“It itches,” she said. “It itches continuously.”

That’s how change feels, doesn’t it? Stripping away layers, scratching at the surface, leaving red traces behind. And yet, in between the therapies, the sickness, the exhaustion—my friend takes her children to art exhibits, museums, places that hold beauty. She is diligently learning a new language. She doesn’t linger on the body that’s changing against her will. Instead, she thinks of art, politics, the world, people.

I think of her with awe: what an art piece she is.

And what an art piece a woman is.

I think, too, of how in so many ways, breast cancer is a metaphor for patriarchy.

A mechanism designed to make women smaller, weaker, quieter. Ashamed of themselves. And yet, here is my friend—applying lotion to her itchy skin, choosing, every day, to see beauty.

And here we all are, under the light of the Leo Full Moon. Choosing to be seen. Choosing to matter beyond the body, beyond illness, beyond loss.

So I can’t talk about the Full Moon in Leo without talking about breast cancer—and the battles women win and lose every single day. Leo rules the heart, the lungs, the breath that sustains us.

But it also rules the fight.

The fight for life, for art, for love.

The fight for our children.

The fight to persist, to matter, to take up space in our own light.

This Full Moon represents the heart chakra in its strongest physical form.

And here is what she is asking us tonight:

💛 What does it mean to be seen?

🔥 How do we respond when we feel invisible?

💨 How do we hold our light when things are out of our control?

Leo is where the Sun is strong—the ruler of our sense of self, our desire to be witnessed, acknowledged, celebrated.

But a Full Moon here?

Well, the Full Moon amplifies everything.

And with Uranus in a tense aspect, we might feel the irresistible need to prove something.

The urge to react.

The hunger to feel important.

Okay, let's pause for a moment and think:

What if you don’t need to fight for visibility?

What if you, just as you are—without performance, without proving—are already enough?

Whatever drama you might be part of today, remember: Somewhere, in an art museum, in a grocery store, on the street, a woman is walking next to you who may be in the middle of chemo or may have just lost someone she loved.

So, if we must fight today, let it be against the only enemy that deserves it—the system that tries to make us small and invisible.

The system that teaches us, from an early age, that we—our bodies and minds—don’t matter.

🌕 This is a Full Moon of release.

Not a Moon that asks you to shine brighter, but one that asks you to trust the light that’s already within you.
